It was very simple to do. I side parted my hair, pushed it all round to one shoulder and temporarly held it in place with a sectioning clip. I then divided my hair into 3 parts, subsectioning the two of them off. I then divided up my first part into three, plaitting each strand so I ended up with the first section being made up of 3 plaitts. I plaitted these 3 together to make one plaitt. I then repeated this step with the other 2 sections, ending up with 3 plaitts each made up of 3 plaitts, each made up of 3 plaitts! (with me so far? so we have 9 plaits per section forming one large plaitt). Then, you guessed it! I plaitted the 3 remaining plaitted sections into one Large braid, securing the end with a clear, snag free, polyband.
I love this look. I think it looks great worn casually as in the pictures above, but I think this would also look gorgeous worn to a formal event. I would wear it with some of these;
strewn through it down the length of the braid. If I were to wear it for a night out I would probably back-comb the the roots to achieve some height at the crown before beginning the sectioning for the plaitts. I think it would looks amazing with lots of smudgey black eyeliner and a nude lip.
The whole process only took me about 10 minutes and if you're a dab hand with plaitting/braiding hair it's pretty simple. In total this hairstyle is made up of 27 little plaitts, (40 if you include the sub plaitts) which sounds like a lot but if goes much quicker and easier than you'd think. And hopefully you'll agree it's worth the effort.
Aw it looks so nice :D x
